The OCSA ProStart Management Team earned First Place at the California ProStart Cup and went on to place Third nationally at the 2025 National ProStart Invitational, a premier competition for high school students in restaurant management and culinary arts
The OCSA ProStart Management Team of Camila Acevedo (CAH, ‘27), Kayleen Chae (CAH, ‘27), and Allison Kim (CAH, ‘27), coached by Culinary Arts & Hospitality Instructor Paola Costa, earned First Place at the California ProStart Cup and went on to place Third nationally at the 2025 National ProStart Invitational (NPSI), a premier competition for high school students in restaurant management and culinary arts. The team competed against 48 state champions and impressed industry judges with their original restaurant concept, BondFire – a quick-casual eatery inspired by camping and the great outdoors. They showcased skills in menu design, recipe costing, marketing, and real-time problem solving. Additionally, the following teams and solo competitors took part in the California ProStart Cup in Los Angeles in February 2025, prior to the National Invitational.
