The OCSA community would like to welcome you to our school and let you know that we look forward to assisting your child as he/she embarks upon an amazing educational and artistic adventure. In order to help your child transition smoothly into this new environment, we are holding orientations for all new students in 7th through 12th grades.
The first day of school can be stressful, confusing, and often overwhelming for anyone. However, attending a new school entirely can heighten these concerns. Through this orientation, your child will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of OCSA’s unique culture, where their classrooms are located, who their teachers are, and also meet many other new students that will be in one or more of their classes this upcoming year. Having this chance to find their classrooms and meet some new faces in the process will help alleviate some of the anxiety.
We also realize that this is a new experience for many parents. Sending your child to a new school can be daunting, especially if the distance is a long way from home. At the parent orientation portion, we will go over our different forms of communication, ways to get involved, and have a question and answer time. The Parent Support Organization (PSO) will also be holding a welcome gathering that will give parents an opportunity to meet other new families.
We are holding the following new Parent/Student orientations on the following two days:
Wednesday, August 9, 2017 (Middle School)
Thursday, August 10, 2017 (High School)
1:00-3:00 pm | Center for the Arts | Margaret A. Webb Theatre
NOTE: To minimize your time/commute, consider selecting your On-Campus Registration appointment on the same day as your scheduled orientation!
No RSVP Required
We hope that you will be able to join us for this special occasion! Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions.
