OCSA STUDENTS AND FACULTY PRESENT SPRING PERFORMANCES AND EVENTS

The start of a new year signals the beginning of new opportunities for lasting memories. This spring semester is packed with performances and events across all 17 conservatories including OCSA’s Gala, Season Finale, OCSA Fest, and more. Check out the lineup below to catch a glimpse of OCSA’s talented student artists.

Film & Television: Winter Cineplex

Grab your popcorn and enjoy these amazing original short films by Film & Television students at Chapman University on Wednesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 15. This FREE screening will showcase strong visuals and story plots that these talented directors have been working on throughout the school year.

Creative Writing: Beyond Borders ー “Unwritten: Reclaiming Gender Beyond the Lines”

Join the Creative Writing Conservatory for a conversation on culture conducted through a combination of original poetry, music, and dance. The artists come from across conservatories and grade-levels to develop interdisciplinary dialogues on ideas of identity, gender, and the cultural circumstances that create our worldviews. The event on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17 features a nonprofit giving fair to support local charitable groups.

El-Erian Acting: “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”

Discover the mystery alongside young 15-year-old detective, Christopher Boone, for the Acting Conservatory’s production of the “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”. These talented actors will  bring to life the Tony-Award winning play with dynamic performances and visuals from Thursday, January 22 to Saturday, January 24.

Classical Voice: “Sing Me A Story”

Capture the beautiful vocal talents of the Classical Voice Conservatory’s seventh grade class in "Sing Me A Story - Songs of Yesterday, Voices of Today," for the Junior Evening of Art Song. Enjoy solo performances that bring timeless stories to life through each unique voice. Come enjoy an evening where every song tells a story and every voice shines on Tuesday, January 27.

Commercial Dance: “Forward Motion: A Student Choreography Showcase”

Celebrate OCSA’s Commercial Dance student’s creative voice at “Forward Motion” on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6 with original choreography that reflects where they are—and where they are going. Featuring student-created works in contemporary, jazz, and hip hop, this showcase highlights artistry, risk-taking, and the evolution of young choreographers as they explore movement, musicality, and personal perspective. Each piece represents a step forward in craft, confidence, and creative identity.

Ballet & Contemporary Dance and Ballroom Dance: Valentine Ballroom Fundraiser

In this cross-conservatory fundraiser on Friday, February 6, parents and students are encouraged to sign up for ballroom lessons before enjoying the talented student dancers' high-energy performance.

Integrated Arts Showcase

More than 100 students from the Integrated Arts Conservatory will come together for its thrilling Showcase. The variety show will feature performers from grades 7 through 12. The Showcase will give audiences a chance to experience many art forms, including poetry, dance, short films, piano performances, and more. The Integrated Arts Showcase will take place on campus, at the Center for the Arts’ Webb Theatre on Thursday, February 19 to Saturday, February 21.

Hal Struck Musical Theatre: “Myths & Hymns”

This versatile song cycle from composer Adam Guettel (‘Light on the Piazza,” “Floyd Collins”), brings Greek myths to life on stage. The musical revue concerns the relationship of humans to gods, past and present, with songs from a vast range of genres such as electronic jazz, piano ballads, gospel, and musical theatre. Musical Theatre students bring this performance to the OCSA stage from Thursday, February 19 to Saturday, February 28.

Classical Voice and Instrumental Music Pianist Program Recital

The Classical Voice Conservatory and Pianist Program students collaborate on Thursday, February 26 for an evening of heartfelt music and song. Don’t miss this opportunity to see these talented student artists showcase their skillsets.

Instrumental Music Garn Family Jazz Program: Big Band Dinner Dance

Put your dance shoes on and join the Garn Family Jazz Studies Program for an unforgettable evening featuring OCSA’s award-winning ensemble on Friday, February 27. Revel in enchanting music and dinner with friends and family.

Creative Writing: OC RYSE

Join the Creative Writing Conservatory for an exciting competition featuring transcending poetry. OC RYSE stands for the Orange County Regional Youth Slam Event. Area school teams come to the OCSA campus to compete in a slam competition before guest judges.

Classical Voice: “Can We Sing the Darkness to Light?”

The Classical Voice Conservatory Choirs invite you to join them for an evening of reflection and hope on Wednesday, March 4. Come and hear glorious voices singing songs that inspire and heal what troubles from within.

El-Erian Family Acting: “Cutthroat”

The Acting students will present the world premiere of “Cutthroat,” written by OCSA acting alum, Aiden Lindsay (‘27) on Wednesday, March 4. This epic, directed by Bodie Newcomb and Wyn Moreno, will transcend multiple mediums.

Instrumental Music Strings All Orchestra Concert

The Instrumental Music Strings Conservatory presents their All Orchestra Concert on Thursday, March 5 featuring the String, Chamber, and Symphony Orchestra. This evening will showcase classic and sophisticated works and music for all to enjoy.

School of Applied Arts: Director’s Cut

The School of Applied Arts presents Directors’ Cut happening Friday, March 13. This immersive event  inspired by the popular fork-and-film experience in New York City, where cinema and cuisine collide features an 18-course tasting meal entirely created by students. Each course is inspired by a film of their choice and designed to translate storytelling, emotion, and visual artistry into flavor. As the evening unfolds, guests will journey through a carefully curated selection of dishes that mirror narrative arcs and cinematic moments, transforming dinner into a live artistic performance. Experience food as film, film as art, and storytelling you can taste.

Design & Media: Art Battle

OCSA Design & Media students will clash in this epic Art Battle on Wednesday, March 18. This one-part Spring show, highlighting the work from students throughout the semester, and one-part live art competition promises to be an evening of crazy fun and creativity.

El-Erian Family Acting: “Healer”

Go on a mystical journey of a hypnotized young man in this world premiere by OCSA’s Acting students starting Thursday, March 19. Directed by the Acting Conservatory’s Jay Wallace, this performance promises to keep audiences at the edge of their seats.

Integrated Arts: Middle School Acting Moments

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Come see the Integrated Arts Conservatory’s youngest performers share the stage in this wacky and energy-packed evening. This performance of one-acts highlight moments throughout American history features a game show in the middle of the production. Middle School Acting Moments will take place at the Scott & Charlotte Egan Studio Theatre beginning Thursday, March 19.

Popular Music: High School “Coachella: Legends of the Desert”

Experience fun and the action emulating the sound and style of the famous Coachella music and arts festival, here on our OCSA campus. On Friday, March 20, this concert experience will capture performances from OCSA’s Popular Music High School students where the energy will always be electric.

Instrumental Music Pianist Program: Senior Ensemble Recital

This recital program performed by Instrumental Music’s award-winning students of the Pianist Program will encompass ensemble literature for piano four hands and two pianos.

Popular Music: Middle School Evolution of RnB

Fall in love with the rhythms and blues in Popular Music’s upcoming concert on Thursday, March 26. Middle school students will take on this popular genre with soulful and jazzy tones.

Ballet Folklórico: Spring Showcase

Experience the vibrant colors and honored traditions through dance presented by Ballet Folklórico students in their spring show on Friday, April 10.

Instrumental Music Frederick Fennell Wind Studies Program: Winds Festival Concert 

Attend the Frederick Fennell Win Studies Program on Monday, April 13 for their annual festival concert. OCSA’s award-winning ensembles will perform musical selections that will take you on a tour of music and symphony.

Instrumental Music Garn Family Jazz Studies Program: Combos Concert

This evening will feature Instrumental Music students in small ensembles, performing staple Jazz repertoire as well as original student arrangement and compositions. Come and swing dance with us on Tuesday, April 14.

Ballet & Contemporary Dance Showcase

The Ballet & Contemporary Dance students demonstrate their gift for a multitude of dance genres in this visually stunning performance on Thursday, April 16.

OCSA Gala 2026: Cosmic Variety Hour

The OCSA Foundation is rewinding the clock and cranking up the color for its most spectacular night of the year ーGala 2026: Cosmic Variety Hour! On Saturday, April 18 step straight into the dazzling, technicolor world of an early-1960s live-televised variety show. Don’t miss the biggest and most dynamic variety show in support of OCSA’s transformative arts programs and students.

Creative Writing and El-Erian Family Acting: New Play Festival

Escape in the world of these brand new plays from Wednesday, April 22 to Friday, April 24. The 12th Annual New Play Festival brings original works to life. Come support the incredible playwrights from the Creative Writing Conservatory and performances from the Acting students and experience brand-new storytelling live on stage!

Instrumental Music Strings & Orchestra: Harp Recital

The Strings & Orchestra Conservatory students will perform in perfect harmony in their upcoming harp recital on Monday, April 27. 

Classical Voice Composer’s Night

This whimsical event features a first look at new compositions and songs from the Classical Voice student artists on Monday, April 27.

Instrumental Music Pianist Program Recital

The Instrumental Music Piano Program will present their talented pianists in their upcoming Spring concert. The Junior Conservatory recital will take place on Tuesday, April 28 and the Senior Conservatory recital will be on Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30.

Integrated Arts: “Newsies”

Seize the day and watch the Integrated Arts Conservatory’s production of the Tony-Award winning musical “Newsies,” starting on Wednesday, April 29. This musical based on the film of the same name, tells the story of newsboys of the late 1800s who made headlines striking in New York City. This bombastic performance will feature memorable music and dance filled with energy and heart.

Hal Struck Musical Theatre: “The Addams Family”

Join the grim and grotesque universe of “The Addams Family” with the Musical Theatre Conservatory on Wednesday, April 29. Laugh through this wacky original musical as the family tackles a father’s worst nightmare: his daughter, Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a regular boy. Be sure to catch this musical comedy based on the beloved series of characters.

Ballroom: “Dancing with the OCSA Stars”

Based on the popular television show, Ballroom Dance seniors will pair up with OCSA staff members or OCSA “Stars” as they compete and perform in Ballroom’s seventh annual Dancing with the Star event on Friday, May 1.

Martin & Cynthia Howard Design & Media and Visual Arts: Senior Show Reception

The School of Fine & Media Arts will come together on Saturday, May 2 to present the culmination of work by the talented senior artist. See pieces from different mediums that emulate the skills these students have learned throughout their OCSA experience.

El-Erian Family Acting: "The Laramie Project"

OCSA’s Acting students take on this powerful play that tells the stories of the real people in transcripted interviews and the long lasting effect on the community. "The Laramie Project" is running in the Scott & Charlotte Egan Studio Theatre on Thursday, May 7 to Saturday, May 16.

Hal Struck Musical Theatre: A Little of Broadway

Catch the amazing middle school musical theatre students showcase their talents on Friday, May 15. The show will highlight the young and upcoming performers in a musical revue.

Popular Music: The Original Showcase

In collaboration with the Martin & Cynthia Howard Design & Media Conservatory, Saturday, May 16 Popular Music musicians will perform their original songs in this electric live music event.

Ballet Folklórico: Expresiones

Join the class of 2026 as they present their senior choreography work in Expresiones on Tuesday, May 19. This student created event showcases their ability to create and choreograph their ideas and storytelling in all genres of dance. This FREE event will reflect heartfelt and riveting work from OCSA’s Ballet Folkório’s passionate seniors.

Instrumental Music Garn Family Jazz Studies Program: Big Band Concert

Book your tickets for the latest Jazz Studies concert on Wednesday, May 20. The award-winning band will perform from a vast collection of jazz standards and new originals.

OCSA Season Finale

Celebrate the highlights of the 2025-2026 school year with OCSA’s annual Season Finale on Saturday, May 23. This magical night highlights every conservatory and the spectacular work from OCSA student artists. Witness a special tribute to the senior class, honoring their time and impact on the OCSA community before they begin the next chapter of their lives. Season Finale will take place at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

Arts and Enterprise OCSAFEST

OCSA’s Arts & Enterprise Conservatory brings music, art, and fun together in their fourth-annual OCSAFEST on Friday, May 29. This cross-conservatory festival will celebrate the unique talents through exciting concert music sets, visual art exhibits, dance performances, and more! Celebrate the school year with arts, laughter, and fun!
