As Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) students, staff and alumni know, Halloween at our campus is always a huge deal. What better way to enjoy the spooky season than to celebrate with a few fun OCSA activities? Here are some ideas for you to engage yourself in Halloween-themed celebrations on campus this month.
Participate in OCSA’s October Spooktacular on Social Media

Head over to the @WeAreOCSA Instagram for fun, interactive quizzes and polls, questions of the day, and more in celebration of the most exciting time of the year. Be sure to tag us in your own spooky posts leading up to Halloween day!
Visit the Visual Arts Conservatory’s Pumpkin Auction
Friday, Oct. 13 - Wednesday, Oct. 18
Each year, the Visual Arts Conservatory hosts its Painted Pumpkin Auction that showcases incredible artworks created from artificial pumpkins. Students and faculty use these pumpkins as their canvas, creating masterful designs with themes ranging from cute and magical to downright frightening! Pumpkins will be displayed in the Tower lobby and will be available for auction!
Attend Creative Writing’s Scarefest
Wednesday, Oct. 25
Scarefest is an annual event hosted by the Creative Writing Conservatory. Prior to the Oct. 26 event, students are given about 48 hours to write an original play using randomized prompts. Student actors then have to quickly memorize lines and perform the plays on stage in Symphony Hall. Be sure to attend Scarefest to experience the spontaneity of a last-minute script and performance. Tickets are available at the Box Office.
Get Scared at the Production & Design and Arts & Enterprise Halloween Maze
Thursday, Oct. 26 - Monday, Oct 30
Get in the spirit of Halloween by taking a stroll through a spooky “Zombicalypse” maze by students from the Production & Design Conservatory! The maze will be open in the Tower Studio Theatre from Oct. 26 through Oct. 30. Ticket information will be available soon!
Enter the costume contest on Halloween

Halloween at OCSA is always full of fun and excitement. You can expect to see costumes in every category, including festive, scary, and all things pop culture on 10th Street during lunch. If you plan to wear an impressive costume, don’t forget to enter the costume contest!
