Become a Camp OCSA Counselor

Do you want to share your talents with other children from the community? Become a Camp OCSA counselor and make an impact on the lives of aspiring young artists! Camp OCSA offers after-school arts training workshops free of charge for 500 underserved Santa Ana students in grades 4-6 each year. This unique program provides hands-on classes in dance, acting, singing, guitar, creative writing, and painting/drawing. Classes are held on Tuesday nights from 5:30 - 7:30 PM for 10 weeks in the fall on the OCSA campus.

Camp OCSA invites current OCSA students in grades 10-12 to be part of this amazing program by becoming a Camp OCSA counselor. This is a great opportunity for OCSA students to give back to the community, share their talents, and earn volunteer hours. Don’t miss out on this fun and rewarding opportunity!

Week of Altruism

All week long, OCSA will be hosting a week-long drive to benefit the families who lost their homes to the recent Canyon fires

Sunday, 12/3: Volunteer at the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run

Volunteer at the longest-standing, holiday-themed 5K race series anywhere – and fight with us to conquer arthritis!  The Arthritis Foundation’s original Jingle Bell Run is a fun way to get decked out and be festive, while racing to raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability. Put on your favorite holiday costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. ’Tis the season to live it up and be jolly for a reason!

  • Where?  Laguna Niguel Regional Park (28241 La Paz Road/Laguna Niguel, CA 92677)

  • When? 6:30 AM.-12:30 PM

  • Where can I park? Park at Chet Holifield Federal Building (Free roundtrip shuttle; 24000 Avila Road, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677)

  • What will I be doing? OCSA will be volunteering in several capacities, including distributing water, handing out food and beverages, trash pickup.  

  • Who can attend? This event is open to all OCSA students (Grades 7-12) and OCSA families.

  • How do I sign up to volunteer?

Monday, 12/4: Clothespins of Positivity!

Spread the love and show appreciation for your OCSA family!  Clothespins of positivity will be distributed to Block 4 classes to share with the OCSA community.  If you receive a clothespin at any point during the day, “pay it forward” and pass it along to show your love and appreciation to someone.

 

Tuesday, 12/5: Cookie Decorating!

OCSA will be decorating cookies for the local Red Cross office.  Come out to 10th Street during lunch to decorate one!


 

Wednesday, 12/6: Letter writing!

Come out to 10th Street and write a letter to soldiers to show your appreciation

 

Thursday, 12/7: Community Service Marketplace!

Clubs will be be hosting booths on 10th Street during lunch to sell small, items in support of nonprofit organizations.  No food will be sold.  Make sure to bring $2-$5 to show your support for these clubs and their causes!

 

Friday, 12/8: Rise Against Hunger!

Looking for a fun way to get community service credit and contribute to a worthy cause? Join OCSA and Rise Against Hunger to help package meals for those affected by malnourishment and the recent natural disasters.  Click here to sign up today!

Saturday, 12/9 : Surfrider Foundation!

Attend Surfrider Foundation's December 9, 2017, Beach Cleanup at Warner Ave/Bolsa Chica State Beach (Between Seapoint & Warner on PCH) with friends and family! Beach cleanups are a great way to have fun with friends, keep our oceans clean and learn more about the challenges that face our ocean. CSF students and NHS students have the opportunity of receiving credit.  There is no parking fee at Bolsa Chica State Beach. You do not need to bring anything, but if you have work gloves and a bucket, bring them. Click here to sign up!

Recycling at OCSA

Did you know that OCSA recycles paper, as well as cans and bottles? OCSA has partnered with My Recycler to go green! All proceeds from recycables go to Project Hope Alliance to help combat child homelessness in Orange County. Green Bins in classrooms are for paper, and the Blue Bins in classrooms are for cans and bottles!
