About Camp OCSA

Are you a current OCSA student in grades 10-12 who wants to make an impact on the lives of other young artists?

This award-winning community outreach program provides free, sponsor-supported beginning level arts training workshops in dance, drama, guitar, vocal music, and visual arts, to students in grades 4 through 6 who reside in or are attending schools in the City of Santa Ana.

Camp OCSA has been named the recipient of the 2012 Arts Schools Network Community Partnership Award and the 2011 Santa Ana Community Building Award.

Student applications are sent to the elementary and middle public schools in Santa Ana and additional applications are available at OCSA for qualifying students. Approximately 450 students are accepted into this program.

Camp OCSA is a positive, nurturing, environment for young people with an interest in the arts and the desire to discover and develop their talents. Classes are designed to introduce local young people with little or no experience in the arts to the basic language, techniques and skills of one of several arts disciplines.

The program is offered during one 10-week workshop session each year. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings October through December from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Orange County School of the Arts. No audition is required and there is no cost to participate for qualified students.

All classes are taught by OCSA student volunteers in grades 10-12 under the advisement, direction, and supervision of OCSA faculty and staff.

For additional information, please contact Patricia McMaster, Director of Community Programs, or call 714-560-0900 ext. 5630.
