INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

The Garn Family Jazz Studies Program


Under the direction of Dan St. Marseille, performing groups and individuals from the The Garn Family Jazz Studies Program have won several local and national awards, including the Reno Jazz Festival, Fullerton Jazz Festival, and the Spotlight Awards. In addition, Jazz Studies Program students have participated in the Grammy Jazz Camp, Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Next Generation Jazz Festival, Jazz Band of America, and All-Southern and All-State Honor Jazz Ensembles.

Guest artists such as Claudio Roditi, Bob Sheppard, Gary Foster, Ira Nepus, Bill Cunliffe, Jeff Ellwood, Joey Sellers, and Gilbert Castellanos, have all recently performed with the Ambassador Jazz Orchestra. Top musicians and educators like Sal Lozano, Chuck Tumlison, Ramon Banda, and Jeff Tower have eagerly conducted clinics for our talented students.
