After-School Student Program Contract

Enrollment in this program is restricted to 7th  and 8th graders, and is offered during the online registration process.  During the online registration process, you will be asked if you and your child have read and understand the ASP Parent/Student Contract


Program Purpose / Goals

The purpose of the After-School Student Program (ASP) is to enhance and support the growth of 7th and 8th grade students enrolled in OCSA through provision of an affordable, safe, caring, after-school environment.  The program goals are to provide guidance and care, in a quiet, structured environment, for students to complete homework, which acts as an extension of home, school, and community.

Location / Calendar / Hours

  • The After-School Student Program will be located on the OCSA campus.
  • The program is available on all schools days beginning: Tuesday, August 19, 2013 through Thursday, June 12, 2014.
  • All 7th and 8th grade students who are still on campus after their last class must report to the designated After-School Student Program room. The programs hours are:

  • The program is closed on all designated school holidays.
  • All students must be picked up by 5:30 pm each school day.

Enrollment Requirements

  • Read and approve the ASP Student Program contract (this document).
  • Select the “After School Program” as part of Online Registration.
  • Provide emergency contact and released information for each child during the Online Registration process.
  • Enrollment in the OCard program is required for a child’s attendance.  For more information or to enroll in the OCard program visit www.ocsarts.net/OCard.  Parents must maintain a positive OCard balance for each enrolled student in order for their child to attend each day.

Daily Fee

  • $7.00 daily fee will be charge to a student’s OCard each day that a student attends the program.  For billing purposes, a $7.00 fee is charged for any period of attendance for the day.

  • Financial assistance is available for families who qualify for the National School Lunch Program and have an approved OCSA's Free/Reduced Lunch Program application on file for the current school year.  For more information, visit www.ocsarts.net/FRLP, or contact Becky Parsons at becky.parsons@ocsarts.net or 714-560-0900, ext. 5535.

Attendance / Illness / Absence

  • A student who is absent from school due to illness may not attend the After-School Student Program that day.
  • Parents will be notified if a student becomes ill, or is injured.  Parents are expected to pick up students promptly once notified.  In the case of an emergency, the staff will take the necessary action(s) to ensure the health and safety of the student.
  • Students may be released to attend special on-campus activities as is necessary.
  • OCSA will not be held liable for any injury or loss of property beyond its reasonable control.

Behavior Management Procedures:

  • All School-wide Behavior Expectations remain in effect during the After-School Student Program.
  • Students are expected to come prepared with quiet work to complete and not disrupt others.
  • A student whose behavior disrupts the learning environment may be dismissed from the program.

Sign In and Out Procedures:

  • Each student must sign in each day for attendance and accounting purposes.
  • Parents or guardians may call the Front Desk at 714-560-0900, ext. 0002 to early release their child. This is the only way students will be released and it is in place for each child’s safety.
