Admission Notification/Acceptance Information
Admission Notification / Acceptance FAQ
When are admission notifications sent?
Admission notifications will be sent via e-mail the first week of April 2017. Please be sure that your current primary e-mail address is correct. You can review and update your information in your admission account profile.
We will be out of town when the notification emails are scheduled to arrive. If my child is accepted, is there a deadline to accept?
You will have until Thursday, April 13, 2017 to process your online acceptance and register for an Enrollment Meeting and a Parent Presentation. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact the Admission Office.
If an applicant completed an interview-audition for two conservatory programs will they receive two admission notification emails?
No, only one admission notification email will be sent. All final audition results will be posted in each applicant's account. Applicants will received one of three final decisions: "Offer", "Wait-listed", or "Declined". All final results will be posted in the applicant account.
I was accepted to one conservatory, however, when I login to approve my conservatory why are both conservatories I attended interview-auditions for shown?
Each application submitted is given a final result. If you have been accepted into 2 conservatories or programs, you must select one conservatory / program for enrollment. If you accept more than one conservatory offer of enrollment, you will be placed into your First Choice conservatory.
When accepting admission, please be sure to accept only one offer of admission.
If accepted for admission, what meetings are required to ensure my child's admission?
Both parents and students are required to attend an Enrollment Meeting in April 2017. These meetings are grade specific. Additionally, parents are required to attend an Annual Parent Presentation in June 2017. Attendance at both meetings is mandatory to ensure your child's admission for the 2017-2018 school year. Click here for a listing of both meeting dates/times.
My child is currently on the wait list. What number am I on the list and what are the chances of getting called to enroll?
OCSA does not have a traditional numbered wait list. In selecting applicants from the wait list, we first determine grade level, then conservatory availability. Selection from the wait list usually takes place in April through August. Although students will remain on the wait list through first semester, if you have not been contacted by the end of August 2017, please consider reapplying to OCSA for the following school year.
Can I be added to the wait list?
Unfortunately, you cannot be added to the wait list. Applicants are chosen to be on the list based upon the results of their audition.
My child was accepted, however, it isn’t the best timing. Can I defer my child’s acceptance to the following school year?
No, enrollment cannot be deferred. If you are accepted to OCSA and choose not to come, your spot will be given to a student on the wait list. You will then need to reapply and re-audition.
My child was not accepted for admission. Is it possible to receive feedback on the audition to help prepare my child for next year?
Due to the large number of applicants, we are unable to give feedback on auditions.
I have a "current student" and a "new student.” Since I already attended my Parent Meeting for the 2017-2018 school year, do I need to attend another meeting?
No, you only need to attend one Annual Parent Presentation. When you accept admission for the "new" student you do not need to select a Parent Meeting to attend; however, you are required to select and then attend a New Student Enrollment Meeting. Plus, you are required to return a Parent Funding Agreement for the new student. Click here for a listing of meeting dates/times.
