Community Outreach - Camp OCHSA
(September - December 2010)
This community outreach program provides free, sponsor-supported beginning level arts training workshops in dance, drama, guitar, vocal music, and visual arts, to students in grades 4 through 6 who reside in or are attending schools in the City of Santa Ana.
Camp OCHSA is a positive, nurturing, environment for young people with an interest in the arts and the desire to discover and develop their talents. Classes are designed to introduce local young people with little or no experience in the arts to the basic language, techniques and skills of one of several arts disciplines.
The program is offered during one 12-week workshop session each year. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings September through December from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Orange County High School of the Arts. No audition is required and there is no cost to participate for qualified students.
All classes are taught by OCHSA student volunteers in grades ten through twelve under the advisement, direction, and supervision of OCHSA faculty and staff.
